Siófok, one of the busiest tourist centres of the nation, is "the capital city of the Hungarian summer." Its resort and villa area were built at the end of the 19th century as the grandest scale touristic undertaking of the time. The renowned composer of many operettas, Imre Kálmán was born here, whose birth house is now a museum for the artist; operetta galas are held in the city every summer.  Several art galleries can be found in Siófok, where exhibitions of works by famous artists are visible. 

Siófok is more and more famous not only for summertime parties on Petőfi Promenade, but lots of high-quality cultural events and festivals (Fish Festival, Pálinka Fest of St. Martin's Day in November, Feast of Bread & Wine in August etc.), in the city center and by the port, next to Jókai Park.

Jókai Park is one of the most popular destinations at Lake Balaton, it offers relaxation indeed. You can walk among incredible flowers and trees, and enjoy the beauty of the Japanese and landscape gardens. Kids are welcomed with a playground, while parents can have fun at the chess tables.

The vibrant Petőfi promenade is the so-called "Party-Zone" of the city with different entertainment facilities (bars, clubs, restaurants), but this is not the top attraction of Siófok at all. Sunset Beach Apartment is located in a more quiet district, right next to the Golden Beach, so you can enjoy the peace & harmony of nature. If you prefer wellness Bath & Spa, you can enjoy Galerius Wellness Center & Spa which is 500 meters from the apartment.

Siófok Port is an unmissable spot to visit. Ferries to Tihany and Balatonfüred as well as scheduled pleasure boats depart from here. Pjtor Tyimofejevics Sztronszkij's statue - The benevolent angel of Peace is a unique honorary gift to the city of Siófok. Next to the port you can walk in a beautiful rose garden.
